Minneapolis Pride 2026

One of the largest Pride celebrations in the United States will take place in downtown Minneapolis on Sunday, June 28. What began more than 50 years ago as a small grassroots march along Nicollet Avenue has grown into a vibrant, 12-block parade on Hennepin Avenue, drawing an estimated 200,000 attendees to the city each year.

The Twin Cities Pride Parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of 3rd Street and Hennepin Avenue and travel through downtown before concluding at Loring Park. The park will serve as the center of the Pride Festival, featuring live music and entertainment, food vendors, local artists, community organizations, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community.

The first Twin Cities Pride Parade was held in the 70s in response to the Stonewall Uprising, a pivotal event in the LGBTQ+ rights movement that took place in New York City in 1969. Just 25 participants marched in that inaugural parade, which also ended at Loring Park. Since then, Pride in the Twin Cities has grown into a month-long (and year-round) celebration that includes dozens of events throughout the region, ranging from educational programs and cultural performances to community gatherings and advocacy initiatives.

Today, Twin Cities Pride serves not only as a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and self-expression, but also as a reminder of the ongoing work toward equality and acceptance for all.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈
