Highway 280 Closure
There are generally two seasons in the Midwest: Winter and Construction Season. This Saturday saw record high temperatures in the 70s, which means . . .
Construction Season is right around the corner.
This Construction Season, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) is closing Highway 280 from I-94 to Highway 36/I-35W until the start of the Minnesota State Fair. During the closure, MNDOT will make several significant improvements to the Highway, including resurfacing roads, replacing aging drainage systems, and repairing bridges. Overall, the project will help to extend the life of the existing infrastructure and make the road safer for motorists. However, drivers should be warned – it may cause some traffic and delays.
The project is anticipated to be completed by August, in time for the State Fair. Additional improvements and repairs are planned for 2028. More information about the project is available on MNDOT’s website.
