Interstate 94 Reopens (for now)
It’s that time again: The Minnesota State Fair begins Thursday, August 21. In addition to enjoying a bucket of Sweet Martha’s cookies, fairgoers can also relish in a smoother commute to the fairgrounds.
Eastbound lanes along Interstate 94 have been closed for maintenance and repair work since last October. However, MNDOT will reopen all lanes along I-94 in anticipation of increased traffic from the State Fair. The reopening will be temporary – lanes will close again once the fair ends Labor Day weekend. The $16 million project began last fall and is anticipated to be completed this October.
So, whether you drive along I-94 for work or for the Fair (or both), you can enjoy a quicker commute (at least for the next two weeks).
